Topsmelt Update - Growing!

Remember my fish eggs? It has been a week since I've looked at them, and what a difference! Here were the eggs last week, the whole mass, and then how the mass looks now.

Here is the close-up of an individual egg one week ago, and now. Notice how much more pigmentation there is. Also, I can only get about a third of the embryo into view at one time as it has grown so much. It looks as though they may be able to hatch very soon.

Finally, look at the robust heart and circulatory action this week in these cool videos.

I have ordered some copepods for them - they will be too small to eat brine shrimp, but can eat the young copepods. Stay tuned!
