The Long Wait

Writer's picture: Debra QuickDebra Quick

It’s been a long time since I have posted, but that is because nothing is happening. I still have high levels of Nitrite in my larger tank. I believe I may have added too much ammonium and it is taking a long time for the bacteria to catch up. I did a 50 gallon water change, but no luck. I have levels of Nitrate in both tanks, so the process is moving along, but very slowly. The process started on   , so it has been a good     months. I may go collect some live rock to introduce and maybe get more beneficial bacteria.  Of course, I could also be introducing detrimental ones.. oh well. I think at this point I have an expensive water feature, not an aquarium!
